mother mary, don't you know? she's got eyes like Marilyn Monroe
Louisa Eloise Broocks was born on December 28th, 1981 in Port Angeles, Washington. The only child of an arts professor and a city councilman, Lola spent the majority of her adolescence between a boarding school in upstate New York and her grandmother's home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Her parents, two people consumed predominately by their professions, provided but a shadow of some parental guidance and so left a great deal of her education and discipline to her grandmother and various tutors. Despite this estrangement, she was a happy child, clever and observant if not a touch introverted. Reared by an aging matriarch amongst equally brittle old folks, she adapted the mannerisms and aptitude of someone far wiser than her years and was referred to by her father (on the rare occasions when they actually spoke to or saw one another) as his "little old girl".
From her preparatory school she continued on to college and Belmont University was her school of choice. She majored in English Literature and took a minor in Music, which she humorously found she had little talent for. Her years in Nashville were exciting; perhaps the most exciting of her life thus far. She relished in what she believed to be the typical college experience and the relief of defying both her grandmother's morals and her own. She still graduated with honors and shortly after graduation moved to Los Angeles to take a job with Viacom. Louisa celebrated her 25th birthday in an unfamiliar city, alone but elated.
Two years have passed and with it lovers have come and gone, new friends have been made and old friends have reconnected. After a lay off from Viacom, she landed a job with L.A. Confidential Magazine and transplanted from West Hollywood to Silver Lake. She has one pet, a West Highland Terrier named Led.
